Our New Website is Live
Welcome to our new website!
After more than 20 years working in the photography industry — photographing weddings, events, formals, families, babies, headshots and branding sessions —
I knew I wanted to take everything I had learnt and focus purely on the corporate and event world.
Corporate events have always excited me. The fast pace, the people, the energy, the storytelling, the atmosphere, the pressure of capturing important moments as they happen — I genuinely love it.
So, 2 years ago Social Tribe was created.
At the beginning, I built a temporary website just to get things moving while I focused on growing the business, building industry connections and refining the direction I wanted the brand to take.
A few months ago, I started getting quotes to create my dream website. I spent weeks pulling together galleries, writing copy, organising branding ideas and planning how I wanted everything to look and feel.
Then somewhere along the way… I decided to build it myself.
Honestly, I don’t think I fully realised how big the job would become.
What started as “I’ll just have a go” quickly turned into months of learning, redesigning, troubleshooting, editing, rebuilding pages and many very long days and nights trying to figure everything out. There were definitely moments of frustration, moments where I questioned what I was doing, and moments where I probably should have walked away from the computer earlier than I did.
But standing here now, seeing the final result live, I’m genuinely so proud — not only of the website, but of myself for pushing through and creating something that truly reflects me, my work and where I want Social Tribe to go moving forward.
This website is more than just a portfolio. It’s a space that showcases the type of events, businesses and people I love working with, while also giving me somewhere to share more behind the scenes of this industry.
What You Can Expect From This Blog
I wanted this blog to feel personal, genuine and useful
I’ll be sharing some of the exciting events and projects I get to be part of, behind-the-scenes moments from shoots, branding and headshot days, event tips, venue recommendations, content ideas and a look into the world of corporate and event photography.
I also meet so many incredible people through this job, so I’d love to share more of those experiences along the way too.
One thing I’ve really learnt over the last few years is that event photography is about so much more than just taking photos. Good content can continue working for a business long after the event finishes — across marketing, social media, PR, future promotions and brand growth.
That’s the kind of work I love creating.
To everyone who has supported me, referred me, trusted me to capture their events, shared my work or followed the journey so far — thank you. Social Tribe has grown so much in just two years, and I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead.
And if you’ve made it this far through my very first blog post… thank you for being here.
